Steve
Sharkey called the
general meeting of the WTSBC to order at the Woodbridge Community Center at 1:38
PM, with an attendance of forty-eight active members which is a quorum.

A
moment of silence
in remembrance of all our deceased
members, including Ernie Balestracci, Andy Yanni, Jerry Granato, Bob Haag, and
Joe Fenn .
Officer
Roll Call: Joseph
Onuska - All Officers (except Pat Trombetta excused) are present.
Secretary’s Report:
Joe O.: Steve Sharkey made a
request for a motion to dispense with the reading of the minutes. A motion made
by Gary Lazur, seconded by Andy Mudrak, and approved unanimously.
Treasurer's Report:
- Joe Cafaro reported there is
$6,547.24 in the account. Report Attached
President's Report: Steve
welcomed the members and announced the Birthday and Anniversary lists for June.
We currently have ninety active members.
Members went to see Stu Brandow for his One-Hundredth Birthday. We have moved
Stu to the Inactive-Honorary List. Room attendance for May averaged Thirty-three
on weekdays and twelve on weekends. Steve acknowledged that several members of
our club along with other volunteers of the “We Feed Woodbridge Food Bank” were
given lunch and presented with a citation for their volunteerism. Lou Algaze
talked about the luncheon and asked for more volunteers.

for Life Wayne Collins
– Wayne reported that we have
collected Sixteen-Hundred Sixty dollars so far. Donations are accepted till the
end of June.
CPR-AED
Wayne Collins-
Communications have not been going well. We are still trying to set up a class
for members on our waiting list.
Picnic- Joe
Cafaro – Our Annual picnic scheduled for June eighteenth from one o’clock to six
o’clock at Pelzman Park in Avenel. We have almost ninety people signed up to
attend. See Joe Cafaro if you want to attend.
Committee
Updates:
Membership/Orientation
- Joe Keber The club welcomed new members,
Nicholas Bilis and
Shantha Athalage. We now have ninety members. We will be interviewing potential
applicants on June twenty-seventh.
Fellowship
– John Borkowski read a list of members that the committee has sent cards to or
spoken to and those that are in the hospital. Report Attached.
Maintenance/Supplies
– Steve Jimenez & Lou Algaze: No Report.
Water/Soda
- Angel Rodriguez No Report.
Tournaments/Fundraisers:
9-Ball
Joe Keber – Season nine 9-ball ended this
morning Predators took first place. The schedule for season ten will start on
October first and conclude on December seventeenth. We will play on election
day.
Triple Play-
Joe K. The next triple play is scheduled for July seventeenth and Joe K. will
collect the sign-up sheets on July tenth and post the teams next week.
Zirpolo Tournament.
Wayne Collins/Joe Onuska. Tier 1-A & 1-B games were played on Monday and tier
two on Tuesday and will conclude next Tuesday. Tier three will be tomorrow, and
tier four on Friday.
Dawn Hopkins
We are in contact with Dawn and will schedule her Day at the Club at her
convenience.
The Founding Fathers tournament
- Will be from September sixteenth to the twenty-seventh.
League matches.
Lou Algaze / Ron Blackwell:
No Report.
Hospitality
- Carol DiPietro/Evelyn Mercado:
Thanks to the committee and to John Borkowski’s wife for the crumb cake.
Carol has indicated that she will be resigning from the committee effective
immediately.
Public Relations
– Steve announced that Pat Trombetta was contacted by Evergreen Senior Cener
about supplying members to play in a match between Woodbridge and Old bridge
townships for a fun game of pool. We were asked to supply eleven members to
bolster their team to the eighteen members needed to play. The game will be on
June eighteenth at Old Bridge. There will be a bus provided to transport our
members to the match. Wear your club shirts to the game.
Audit
– Ellen Wortman: Ellen reported that we are
adding Thomas McHale to the Audit committee. Steve acknowledged that the by-laws
call for a three-member committee.
Bylaws
– Wayne Collins: No Report.
Ethics
– Wayne Collins: No Report. Wayne
updated the emergency contact list, please check your information to make sure
it is correct.
Captains
– Ron Blackwell: No Report.
Website
– Ron Blackwell: No Report.
Club Apparel
– Johanna Calamusa, Pat Murphy: No Report. A catalog is upstairs
if anyone needs to order any clothing. Steve told the membership to be sure of
the size you ae ordering when buying club apparel. Once you order an item it is
yours.
Floor
Open/Q&A
BOB Kazimir thanked Lou Algaze for
setting up the League trophies and picnic. Judy Kazimir thanked Joe Keber for
his work running the nine-ball league. There was a question of giving out gift
cards instead of trophies. Joe O. explained that the question was raised in the
past and it was decided we would not give out monetary prizes to winners. Steve
Lemaszewski reminded the members that Frank Pelzman was the one who originally
set the club up with the room we enjoy today. Steve L. also mentioned that he
has been in contact with Philis Jaroszewski and reported that she is not doing
well since she broke her hip. Steve thanked Jim Mulvey for donating the
flashlights for the raffle.
