General Meeting Minutes
PRESIDENT – Steve Sharkey,

Steve
Sharkey called the general meeting of the WTSBC to order at the Woodbridge
Community Center at 1:34 PM, with an attendance of fifty-four active members
which is a quorum. Attendance sheet
attached.
Pledge of Allegiance:
- Lou Algaze Led the pledge to the flag.
3. Please remain standing for a moment of silence in
remembrance of Harry Bernstein who passed away last month
and for all our members that have passed over
the years period.

the members for coming to the first meeting of the year.
Secretary’s Report: Joe O.:
Steve Sharkey made a request for a motion to dispense with the reading of the
December 2024 meeting minutes. A motion made by Jeff Lavine, seconded by Joe
Porrello, and approved unanimously.
Treasurer’s Financial Report
– Joe C.
reported that there is $5,130.97 in
the account.

Holiday Party Update - There are
currently eighty-five members signed up to go to the party, on 1/15/25 from one
to five. We would appreciate it if you could bring a dessert.
President's Report: Steve
welcomed the members and announced the Birthday and Anniversary lists for
January. Steve acknowledged seven members that had perfect attendance during
2024. We currently have ninety active members
and twelve inactive members. Room attendance
for December averaged between 30 and 32 on weekdays and fifteen on weekends.
Steve read a list of the accomplishments that the club had achieved in 2024
including the amounts that the club has raised out of pocket for our various
fundraisers. Report Attached.
Steve also read our club’s “Mission Statement.” Steve
also talked about our outlook for what the club will be doing in 2025. Steve
reported that the percentage of members not signing in/out is 6%.
CPR/AED Training Update
(if needed) –
Wayne Collins
Have -A-Heart food drive: Wayne talked about the have a heart food drive and the
need for donations and funding to help the less fortunate in our community.
There are over 1400 families in need in Woodbridge. Lou Algaze thanked the
members of our club that volunteer at the Woodbridge food bank.
Relay for life:
Wayne Collins asked to have the name of the relay for life changed to the Frank
St. Marie relay for life Memorial Fundraiser.

Committee Updates

Membership/Orientation/Waiting List –

Reported that
we have two applications on file, and we will be having a meeting on January 31st
to evaluate the potential members. We now have an ad running in the Colonia
Corner and have printed up flyers and placed them on the front desk of the WCC
and in the other senior centers. We also plan to talk to the exercise classes
about joining the club.

Room Maintenance/Supplies –

Steve asked the
members not to chalk their sticks over the table it leaves a stain also, Wayne
reminded the members not put the cloth pads into the pockets on tables two and
four it causes them and the balls to get stuck in the returns.

Tournaments/Events
Season 10 Nine Ball League -

Season 10 nine ball
ended, and the awards will be handed out at our February general meeting. Season
11 signup sheets are on the club table and the games will start on March 25th.
The games are from 10am to 12pm.
Triple Play – 1/22/25 –

signup sheets
are out and will be available until January 17th. The next triple play will be
on January 22nd at 9:30am.
Travel Team League, 2024-25 -
Lou Algaze
we are starting the
second half of the season tomorrow at home and are looking forward to winning in
the second half of the season.
Nolan Tournament
- March 2025 -

reported that the Nolan tournament will from March 10th through March 21st. The
signup sheets for the Nolan tournament will be available on February 10th. The
overseers have been set, and the play schedule will be tier 1A on Monday Tier 1B
on Tuesday tier two on Thursday tier three on Friday and Tier 4 on the second
Wednesday. All game information is on the club calendar.
Ladies Day Tournament:
Judy Kazimir the ladies day
tournament will be on April 16th. The sign-up sheets will be available on March
10th, we hope to see all the women in the club sign up and come out
to have a fun time.

Hospitality
– Diane Walker/Christina Malangone/Ed Valesquez: Steve S. thanked Ed Vasquez for
making the coffee and Christina for setting up the snacks for the meeting along
with Wayne's Collins who made the pie.

Relations/Table Maintenance
– Pat Trombetta talked about the 16th annual toy drive extravaganza, and how it
gets bigger each year. There is no club intown that does for the community that
we do.

Ellen Wortman read
her report on the annual club audit. Her committee gave Joe an excellent rating.

Steve asked for a show of hands by people that have
been on the website at least once during the past month, more than half of the
members raised their hands. Joe
Porrello
said that he thinks the site needs a refresh. Steve said that he would like to
see pictures of our events on the site. Joe Porrello and Rob Jenkins volunteered
to help Ron
find a way to make our club pictures more accessible to the membership.
Wayne mentioned that we should have the mayor make an
announcement on his weekly phone message.
